The #CAPACITY4EU training program focused on building civil society capacities for active involvement in EU accession negotiations has concluded

The Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), in collaboration with the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS) and the Berlin-based Institut für Europäische Politik (IEP), has successfully completed a training program addressing key topics relevant to the EU accession negotiation process.

The program was dedicated to strengthening civil society capacities in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova, equipping participants with the tools necessary to understand and monitor the country’s EU accession negotiations. It included interactive sessions that provided an overview of the current stage of Moldova’s accession negotiations, the EU enlargement methodology, and mechanisms for ensuring democratic accountability throughout the negotiation process.

During the first module, held on October 22, 2024, participants received up-to-date information on the negotiation process and discussed the role of civil society in promoting transparency and government accountability. The second module, organized on November 7, 2024, focused on empowering civil society during the bilateral screening phase and explored the EU’s support for the accession process. The third module, conducted on November 28, 2024, concentrated on the EU’s communication strategy, the main priorities, and the key challenges in the negotiation process.

The #CAPACITY4EU – Civil Society for EU Integration project is implemented by the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) in partnership with the Institut für Europäische Politik (IEP) in Berlin and the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS).
