IPRE enlarges its cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and the Soros Foundation Moldova aiming to strengthening the integrity, efficiency and independence of the justice system

The Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) concluded on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, a Cooperation Agreement with the Ministry of Justice and the Soros Foundation Moldova on the implementation of the project “Ensuring an integer, efficient and independent justice system in the Republic of Moldova”.

The Agreement was signed by Minister of Justice Sergiu Litvinenco, Executive Director of the Soros Foundation Moldova Petru Culeac and Executive Director of IPRE Iulian Groza. Within the newly established cooperation framework, IPRE will support in particular the implementation of the following actions:

  • monitoring and supporting the process of consistent implementation of reform policies in the justice sector, in cooperation with Moldova’s development partners;
  • supporting the mechanism for the extraordinary evaluation of justice actors (pre-vetting and vetting);
  • developing policies aimed at increasing the efficiency of criminal investigation of high-level corruption cases.

The agreement is concluded in the context of the IPRE project “Ensuring an integer, efficient and independent justice system in the Republic of Moldova” supported by the Soros Foundation Moldova.
