20 young people from Moldova learned more about security and resilience at IPRE Summer School

From August 7 to 10, 20 young people from Moldova participated in the Summer School “Security and Resilience in the Digital Era” organized by the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) in Lalova, Rezina. Over four days, the participants had the opportunity to explore essential aspects of national and global security alongside local and international experts.

The summer school program included sessions on the international security environment, cyber security, fight against disinformation, energy security, and digital transformation. A special emphasis was placed on ways in which young people can contribute to strengthening societal resilience and improving security culture in the context of new technologies and innovations.

The sessions were led by representatives of public authorities and experts with extensive experience in the mentioned fields. Among the trainers and guests were representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the NATO Liaison Office, the National Institute of Cyber Security Innovations “Cybercor” at the Technical University of Moldova, the “Education for Drones” Laboratory, Moldova State University, and the “Global Focus” Center in Bucharest.

“This summer school provided me with practical tools to be more resilient in the face of hybrid threats,” said Dumitrița Șterbeț, a summer school participant.

“One of IPRE’s objectives is to strengthen the capacity of young people to promote civic engagement and participatory democracy. In this edition of the summer school, we offered young people the opportunity to meet and discuss with established officials and experts about current security challenges faced by Moldova, the strategic vision of our authorities to consolidate national security, increase resilience to crises, and develop cooperation with international partners,” stated Mihai Mogîldea, Deputy Director of IPRE.
