IPRE, in partnership with College of Europe in Natolin, launched the second edition of the training program on the EU accession process – #Natolin4MoldovainEU
The Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), in partnership with College of Europe in Natolin and in cooperation with the Bureau for European Integration, with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), launched on Friday, 11th of October, 2024, the second edition of the online training program dedicated to the phases and mechanisms of the EU accession process – #Natolin4MoldovainEU.
During the opening session, Cristina Gherasimov, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Brigitta Triebel, Head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Office in the Republic of Moldova, and Iulian Groza, Executive Director, IPRE, emphasized the importance and role of the second edition of the program to support the authorities, business communicty and civil society in Moldova on their path towards EU accession.
During the first online session, moderated by Marek Tabor, Head of Executive Education Office at the College of Europe (Natolin), the participants analyzed Poland’s experience in coordinating the EU accession process. Between October and November 2024, five more training sessions will be organized, focused on:
- lessons learned from the EU accession negotiations experience of Croatia and North Macedonia,
- effective national communication tools during the EU accession process,
- attracting and managing pre-accession funds for internal reforms.
These sessions will involve European affairs experts from the College of Europe, as well as former government officials from Poland, Croatia, and North Macedonia.
The #Natolin4MoldovainEU program includes three specialized online courses:
- The EU Accession Process Step by Step: An introductory course for civil servants, dedicated to understanding the initial stages of accession negotiations.
- Coordination of Accession Negotiations: This course details the essential procedural and strategic aspects for the effective coordination of accession negotiations.
- Monitoring Progress in the Accession Process: A course dedicated to the monitoring mechanisms in the accession process, with practical examples from the recent experiences of Croatia and other candidate countries.
More than 100 participants from public institutions, civil society and the business sector in Moldova will benefit from these trainings and resources, contributing to their preparation for the EU accession process.
The training program is part of the project “Enhancing the knowledge and skills of Moldovan public servants on EU accession negotiations” implemented by IPRE, in partnership with the College of Europe in Natolin, with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS).
