14 representatives of civil society and legal professionals were trained in policy development, monitoring, promotion of strategic dialogue and advocacy activities in the justice sector

The Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), in partnership with the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR), organized, on September 28-29, 2023, the training program within the #Justice4Moldova project on public policy development, monitoring, policy dialogue and advocacy activities in the justice sector.

The program, attended by 14 representatives of civil society and legal professionals from the Republic of Moldova, aimed to improve their capacities in the independent development of public policies, monitoring, strategic dialogue and advocacy activities in the field of justice policies, thus contributing to the promotion of a transparent, systemic and accountable process of justice sector reform in the country.

During the first day of the training, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the strategic planning framework, types of public policy documents, their structure, monitoring and reporting mechanisms on the implementation of policy documents.

The second day of the training focused on developing the skills and knowledge needed to actively participate in decision-making processes in the public sector, policy debates on good practices for generating impactful policy texts ( i.e. opinion articles and policy notes), but also developing the skills needed to lead effective and legally grounded advocacy interactions with national and international actors in the field of justice.

Also, at the end of the training program, the objectives, tasks and activities of the Group of Justice Experts (GEJ) were introduced, which will soon be launched within the project with the participation of at least three policy experts who will be mobilized based on the results of the training program.

The training program was organized within the project “Ensuring the integrity, efficiency and independence of the justice system in Moldova – #JustițiePentruMoldova, funded by the European Union and co-financed by Soros Foundation Moldova.
