#JusticeForMoldova: IPRE presented the activities and new members of the Justice Experts Group (#GEJ)

The Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), in partnership with the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR), organized yesterday, November 8, 2023, an initiation meeting with members of the Justice Experts Group (#GEJ), which is part of the #Justice4Moldova project.
During the event, the main objectives of GEJ were set, which are: the promotion of a transparent, systemic and substantiated reform process of the justice sector in the Republic of Moldova by strengthening civil society and the pool of experts in monitoring, drafting public policies and promoting reforms.
GEJ activities for the next two years were also set, including:
- Continuous monitoring of national justice and anti-corruption policies;
- Elaboration of position papers on justice and anti-corruption policies; Organization of strategic dialogue thematic events related to the topics of the elaborated position documents;
- Elaboration of Alternative Reports regarding the implementation of the Strategy for ensuring independence and integrity in the field of justice;
- Organization of high-level visibility and promotion events for the presentation and debate of the developed Shadow Reports;
- Elaboration of opinion articles/comments on significant aspects/problems in the field of justice and anti-corruption.
The Justice Experts Group includes:
- Angela Popil, lawyer and expert in the field of justice;
- Pavel Cazacu, lawyer and human rights expert;
- Petru Istrati, lawyer and mediator.

The event was organized within the project “Ensuring the integrity, efficiency and independence of the justice system in Moldova – #Justice4Moldova”, implemented by the Institute for Police and European Reforms (IPRE), in consortium with the Institute for War and Peace Reporting ( IWPR), with the financial support of the European Union and co-financed by Soros Foundation Moldova.
