reforMD – The second policy debate on preventing and countering online disinformation in the Republic of Moldova

 #IPRE, in partnership with the Institut für Europäische Politik from Berlin (IEP) and the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS)hosted on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, the second policy debate on preventing and countering online disinformation in the Republic of Moldova. 

During the event, civil society experts, representatives of public authorities, debated a reviewed concept of draft regulatory framework on countering disinformation. IPRE experts also presented initial policy analysis prepared in cooperation with national and international experts introducing potential key areas to be addressed in a future legislation on preventing and countering online disinformation.

Following the debate, the #reforMD project experts will further update the policy proposal with final policy recommendations that will be presented to the Parliament, other relevant bodies and civil society for consideration during the upcoming public consultations on the anti-disinformation legislation.

The policy debate was facilitated by IPRE, within the project “reforMD – Resilience against disinformation in the Republic of Moldova”), implemented in partnership with the Institut für Europäische Politik from Berlin (IEP) and the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS) and with the support of the Civil Society Cooperation Program of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.
