9 June 2022

On Wednesday, June 8th, the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) and Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Moldova, in partnership with the German Council for External Relations (DGAP), organized the Workshop “Moldova’s path towards EU candidate status: key challenges and priorities”.

The event brought together 30 participants from civil society and think-tanks from the Republic of Moldova and the EU, including members of the EaP Think Tank Network, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova.

The workshop provided a platform for dialogue on the EU accession process of the Republic of Moldova and the progress achieved in the last three months on this dimension. More attention was paid to the accession stages and possible developments in this regard in the context of the Brussels European Council of 23-24 June 2022. At the same time, the participants addressed the internal and external challenges affecting the Republic of Moldova and the instruments through which the European Union contributes to increasing the resilience of our country.

The event was organized within the project “Strengthening awareness and understanding of the security and defence issues of the Republic of Moldova”, implemented by IPRE and Friedrich Ebert Foundation Moldova, in partnership with the media platforms Zonadesecuritate.md and Zugo.md. The event was also organised with the framework of the EaP Think Tank Network initiative facilitated by DGAP with the support of the European Commission.
