The project “Public policies for development – # Policies4Development”

The aim of the project is to support the strengthening of the capacity of the young research community to influence public policy-making processes, as well as to encourage cooperation between researchers, civil society organizations and policy makers to increase the quality of research and data-based policy documents.

The main activities of the project will be carried out in 3 phases:

Phase I: Participation in the initial training program

20 selected participants will benefit from an initial training program that will include two modules in the field of public policy and research methodology, which will include both theoretical and practical sessions between the modules.

Phase II: Selection of five fellows of the program

Five participants will be selected for a scholarship program in order to develop public policy documents, and will benefit from:

  • a scholarship offered by the Soros Foundation Moldova worth $ 2,000;
  • a mentoring program for the development and promotion of public policy documents;
  • an additional training module in the field of public communication and advocacy;
  • study visits;
  • meetings with experts from partner research centers in the Republic of Moldova and the European Union;
  • support in the presentation and promotion of public policy documents.

Phase III: Development of public policy documents.

The selected fellows will work on a public policy document. During the writing process, the fellows will benefit from the support of a mentor with extensive experience in the field. After completing the public policy document, participants will participate in the third training course in advocacy and public communication. Finally, fellows will participate in organizing a public event where they will present the main research results.

The project “Public policies for development – #Policies4Development”, is implemented by the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), in cooperation and with the financial support of the Soros Foundation Moldova.
