Strengthening the capacities of the regional and local actors regarding their role in the implementation of the National Development Strategy “Moldova 2030”

Implementation period: February – June 2022.

General context: The Government of the Republic of Moldova had devoted significant efforts to incorporate and link the 2030 Agenda Goals with the national strategic planning process to better align national policy framework with sustainable development goals.

The societal transformation generated by 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is conditioned by the collaboration between actors, across all sectors and all levels in society. Engagement of regional and local actors is key in ensuring the implementation of the 2030 Agenda aiming to “leave no one behind”.

For achieving this goal, the project envisages the development of a mechanism with multiple practical instruments for coordination and synchronization at regional and local level of the 2030 Agenda and the new national strategic planning framework.

Planned activities:

– Conceptualization and delivering of training for relevant regional and local actors;

– Drafting of the handbook regarding the role of regional and local actors in the implementation of the National Development Strategy “Moldova 2030”;

– Conducting awareness raising events with regional and local actors.

This activity is possible with contribution of the project “Support to the Moldovan Government in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda” funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
