MEGA Conference, #22: “The Economy and Public Finances in 2021: Risks, Forecasts and Policy Recommendations for Recovery”
Independent Think-Tank ”Expert-Grup” invites all those interested to the 22nd edition of MEGA Conference: ”The Economy and Public Finances in 2021: Risks, Forecasts and Policy Recommendations for Recovery”. The event will take place on February 16, 2021, between 10.00 (AM) and 12:00 (PM), via Zoom.us Platform.
The event is organized within the project “Inform, Empower, Act. Civil Society for good budgetary governance in Moldova”, funded by the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and implemented by the Independent Analytical Center “Expert-Grup” as lead applicant, the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) and the Eastern European Studies Centre (EESC) from Vilnius, Lithuania.
During the event, the team of project experts will present the main findings of the publication “Moldova Economic Growth Assessment (MEGA)”, which provides comprehensive assessment about the dynamic of governance and reforms in Moldova related to the budgetary framework. Taking into account that the budgetary framework is dependent on economic and social sectors, the paper will also include the analysis of recent trends and forecasts of key economic and social indicators of Moldova.
The event will gather policymakers, civil society organizations (CSOs), donor community, opinion leaders and academia in order to engage in strategic dialogue on fostering the budgetary transparency, participation and inclusiveness in Moldova. It will provide a platform for debates about the current economic and social situation amid the ongoing recession, its implications on the system of public finances and necessary policy measures for ensuring the needed economic recovery.
The event will be structured in three parts. The first part will be devoted for welcoming remarks from representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Ministry of Finances and National Bank of Moldova – key institutions responsible for the economic situation and public finances in Moldova. The second part will include the presentations of main findings of the publication, provided by the project team. In the last part, the event will open the floor for questions and answers with the audience.
The working language of the event is Romanian, but simultaneous translation Romanian – English and vice-versa will be available.
