A new project for Moldova: IEPR will follow the implementation process of the Association Agreement with the European Union

Within a new project with the support of Slovak Aid – Official Assistance for the Slovak Republic Development, experts from the Institute for Politics and European Reform (IEPR) will monitor the way the Association Agreement with the European Union is being implemented.

The project “Monitoring the implementation of the Republic of Moldova – European Union Association Agreement” will be released tomorrow in Chisinau within the framework of an event, organized jointly with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Moldova. The project aims to increase awareness of the citizens and civil society on the importance of the Association Agreement for the Republic of Moldova. Likewise, a simple language will be used for informing about the implementation progress thereof, by providing statistics and newsletters about the most important fields of the Agreement.

The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, E.S. Mr. Pirkka Tapiola, EU Ambassador in the Republic of Moldova, as well as E.S. Mr. Róbert KIRNÁG, the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Moldova were invited at the launch of the project to talk about the importance of the Association Agreement and its implementation progress. The IEPR experts will also speak about the objectives and the activity of the Institute, and the participants will be invited to discuss the preliminary results of the first year of the RM-EU Association Agreement implementation. At the same time, a thematic analysis of our country’s commitments towards the European Union in the field of competition will be proposed for debates.

Representatives of the civil society and national public authorities, as well as diplomatic missions, accredited in Moldova, are expected to attend the event, as well.

Project launch will take place on August 25, 2015 at 10.00 at Regency Hotel, 17 Sfatul Tarii str., Chisinau.
